Basketball Recap: Notre Dame Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Notre Dame had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Barker Bulldogs by a score of 66-56 on Friday. The Fighting Irish haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Chase Antinore was a one-man wrecking crew as he dropped a double-double with 26 points and 13 boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season. TJ Cephus was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Barker's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Prynn, who posted 11 points along with six assists and six steals. Another player making a difference was Anthony Taliaferro, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Barker and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will take on Royalton-Hartland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Barker, they will face off against Alden at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
