Baseball Recap: Luling Takes a Loss

Luling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They came up short against the Karnes City Badgers, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Badgers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 back in March.

Luling got a good showing from Cade Royall, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits Royall has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, Luling saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was TJ Anzaldua, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Luling's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Karnes City, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-14 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Luling will square off against Nixon-Smiley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Karnes City, they will challenge Goliad at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Badgers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
