Basketball Recap: Del Norte Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Del Norte can now relate to. They lost 53-32 to the Highland Hornets on Saturday. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Leading Highland to victory were Jerry Moody and Juan Limas. Moody dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards, while Limas dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Moody a new career-high in blocks (five). Juan Campuzano was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Del Norte and nudges their season record down to 16-13. As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-14 record this season.

Del Norte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highland, they will take on St. Pius X at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. St. Pius X will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Highland surely won't give up without a fight.
