Basketball Game Preview: Quartz Hill Royals vs. Torrance Tartars

Having just played yesterday, the Quartz Hill Royals will jump right back in to play the Torrance Tartars at 4:20 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Wednesday, Quartz Hill was able to grind out a solid win over Highland, taking the game 68-55. The victory continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Ty'Jahwuan Jackson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 19 boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last 36 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Fabian Robles, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points.

Quartz Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 21 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Torrance strolled past Peninsula with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 58-42.

Quartz Hill's record now sits at 5-2. As for Torrance, their record is now 7-2.
