Recap: Decatur Seahawks vs. Bennett Clippers
The third road contest was the charm for the Decatur Seahawks, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 35-25 win over Bennett on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Decatur also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Decatur was led to victory by Makenzee Purnell and Allison Swift. Purnell scored eight points along with six rebounds, while Swift scored nine points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Purnell has scored all season.
Decatur now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Bennett, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Decatur will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pocomoke at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Bennett will finish 2023 at home by hosting Laurel at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Laurel is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
