Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph's Academy Angels vs. Eureka Wildcats
St. Joseph's Academy entered their contest against Eureka on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Angels fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Angels were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
St. Joseph's Academy took Eureka into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 25-19, 24-26, 20-25, 25-22, 15-12.
Despite the loss, St. Joseph's Academy still got an impressive performance from Lucy Moriarty, who had 24 digs and six assists. Another player making a difference was Lily Grothe, who had 11 digs and two assists.
St. Joseph's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Eureka, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
St. Joseph's Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Nerinx Hall on the 18th. As for Eureka, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Howell on the 20th.
