Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Channel Islands

Channel Islands won the last time they faced Malibu and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Raiders had just enough and edged out the Sharks 9-8. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Andrew Chavez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Isaiah Osuna was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Channel Islands was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Malibu only posted a batting average of .323.

Channel Islands pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Malibu, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10.
