Softball Game Preview: Queen's Grant Stallions vs. Sugar Creek Charter Wildcats

Queen's Grant has gone a perfect 7-0 against Sugar Creek Charter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Stallions will welcome the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Queen's Grant is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.

Queen's Grant took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy 10-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Stallions as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy's batters probably weren't too happy with Addi Benton, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (she gave up seven walks).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Melissa Detweiler, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in March. Alyssa Steele was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sugar Creek Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on April 4th as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 25-0 to Piedmont Community Charter.

Queen's Grant's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Sugar Creek Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything went Queen's Grant's way against Sugar Creek Charter in their previous matchup back in March, as Queen's Grant made off with a 20-1 victory. Will the Stallions repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
