Baseball Recap: George Walton Academy Comes Up Short

George Walton Academy was the 6-1 winner over Piedmont Academy when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The George Walton Academy Bulldogs lost 12-1 to the Piedmont Academy Cougars on Thursday.

George Walton Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mac Maughon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Maughon is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

George Walton Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Piedmont Academy, they moved to 3-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. George Walton Academy will take on Lake Oconee Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Piedmont Academy, they will welcome Central Georgia Arts at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Georgia Arts will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Piedmont Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
