Football Recap: Hamilton Triumphs

Hamilton took a 48-point loss the last time they faced off against Venice, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Yankees won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Gondoliers 28-27. The win was some much needed relief for the Yankees as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Thaddeus II Breaux was his usual excellent self, throwing for 448 yards and three TDs while completing 72.3% of his passes, and also punching in one touchdown on the ground. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 302.9 passing yards per game.

Hamilton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jacob Riley and Kristian Leslie. Hamilton got some further help from Miles Nico Manilay: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Hamilton's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Venice, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Hamilton will challenge Gardena at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Yankees will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.56 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Venice, they will square off against Bell at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th.
