Preview: Sage Creek Bobcats vs. El Toro Chargers
The Sage Creek Bobcats and the El Toro Chargers will round out the year against one another at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Sage Creek is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Even though Sage Creek has not done well against Mission Vista recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Sage Creek was the clear victor by a 55-29 margin over Mission Vista. Sage Creek might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five games by 21 points or more this season.
Sage Creek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harmony Lawler, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. Lawler is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Katelyn McNamara, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, El Toro's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They suffered a rough 60-40 loss at the hands of Segerstrom.
Sage Creek's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for El Toro, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-5.
