Basketball Recap: Orleans Starts Season with Victory Against Crothersville

Orleans took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 78-45 win over the Crothersville Tigers. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row dating back to last season.

Alex DeWitt had a dynamite game, dropping a double-double with 28 points and ten boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 17 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Nate Brown, who shot 63% from the field en route to 14 points and three steals.

Crothersville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Orleans will head out to face off against Barr-Reeve at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Crothersville, they will be playing at home against New Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
