Volleyball Recap: Emerson Lindsey Key Part of Team Effort in Mohawks Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Morristown, Waldron was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Hauser Jets. The Mohawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jets, too.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (90-89) Waldron actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 14-25, 25-23.

Waldron's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emerson Lindsey led the charge by getting 29 digs, nine kills, and two aces. Lindsey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 13 games she's played. Lauren Strehle was another key player, getting eight aces and six digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Waldron was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Hauser lost, don't look at Leah Manley. Despite the final result, she had 31 assists and 19 digs.

Waldron moved to 4-12 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for Hauser, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Waldron didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against South Decatur on the 23rd. As for Hauser, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Southwestern on the 23rd.
