Basketball Recap: Discovery Piles Up the Points Against Haines City

Discovery entered their tilt with Haines City on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Haines City Hornets 65-35. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 25 points or more this season.

Discovery's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darius Livingston, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points and three steals. Livingston is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Eric Dailey was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Loss or not, Haines City got some senior leadership from Keyjuan Odum and Kobe Key. Odum posted eight points and five boards, while Key went 5 for 10 on his way to 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kanai Washington, who had eight points and three steals.

Discovery pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Haines City, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Discovery will be taking part in a tournament against Tampa Prep at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Haines City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Auburndale at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
