Basketball Game Preview: Cathedral Catholic Dons vs. St. Augustine Saints

Cathedral Catholic hasn't had much luck against St. Augustine recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cathedral Catholic Dons will square off against the St. Augustine Saints at 7:30 p.m. Cathedral Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully St. Augustine likes a good challenge.

Cathedral Catholic took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They snuck past Mission Bay with a 69-65 win.

Meanwhile, St. Augustine earned a 60-48 victory over University City on Tuesday.

St. Augustine is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Cathedral Catholic, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8.

Cathedral Catholic came up short against St. Augustine in their previous meeting back in January, falling 93-86. Can Cathedral Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
