Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eagleton College & Career Academy). They were the clear victor by a 23-1 margin over the Austin-East Roadrunners on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won four contests by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Charlie Johnson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Johnson was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Ashton Baldwin looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Eagleton College & Career Academy got a massive performance out of Jack Kidd, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Kidd also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Nathan Clemmer was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Eagleton College & Career Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Eagleton College & Career Academy pushed their record up to 6-2-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Austin-East, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
