Football Game Preview: Bonanza Bengals vs. Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars

The Bonanza Bengals will take on the Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Bonanza: 9.2, Pinecrest Academy Cadence: 11) so any points scored will be well earned.

Bonanza is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Sierra Vista, who was ranked 13th at the time (Bonanza was ranked 24th). Bonanza took a 6-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sierra Vista. Considering the last time the Bengals couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Pinecrest Academy Cadence's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 32-25 to Legacy. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Cougars, who until this match were averaging 10.95 points allowed.

Bonanza will have to contain Leyton Gasperosky as she made an impact in Pinecrest Academy Cadence's last game. She threw for 207 yards and four touchdowns while completing 82.6% of her passes. That's the most passing yards Gasperosky has posted in her last nine contests. Patricia Monacelli was Gasperosky's top target, picking up 83 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 17-5. As for Bonanza, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
