Volleyball Recap: Gabby Bolton Key Part of Team Effort in Lions Win

Columbia Central won the last time they faced Shelbyville Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lions were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Golden Eagles. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Columbia Central walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 25-11.

Columbia Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabby Bolton, who had 14 digs and four aces. That's the most digs Bolton has posted over her last eight matches. Another player making a difference was Lily Stutts, who had 13 digs.

They weren't the only good server: Columbia Central was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive contests.

Columbia Central's record now sits at 11-6. As for Shelbyville Central, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Columbia Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Tullahoma on the 18th. Shelbyville Central has also already played their next match (against Franklin County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
