It's playoff time, and Starmount had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Cherryville Ironmen, posting a 56-7 win. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Starmount was led to victory by Jymir Billips and Deuce Best. Billips rushed for 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries, while Best threw for 155 yards and three TDs. The dominant performance also gave Best a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). A healthy portion of Best's aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Ryley Rodriguez, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Starmount was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 248 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Starmount didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Landry Mathis. Starmount received some extra help from Cody Hernandez, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

The victory (which was Starmount's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.5 points over those games. As for Cherryville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Starmount will be playing in front of their home fans against South Stanly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Rams 9.1, the Rowdy Rebel Bulls 11.3) so any points scored will be well earned. Cherryville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
