Football Recap: Stanton Skates Past Laurel-Concord-Coleridge with Ease

There's no place like home for Stanton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 68-12 win over the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears. Considering the Mustangs have won three contests by more than 50 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Stanton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hunter Robinette, who rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Robinette has become a key player for the Mustangs: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-4 otherwise. Another passer making a difference was Packer Hogrefe, who threw for 161 yards and three TDs on only eight passes.

Stanton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coming up, Stanton will take on Ravenna at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Bluejays have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
