Recap: Golden Gate Titans vs. Bonita Springs Bullsharks
The Golden Gate Titans won the last time they faced the Bonita Springs Bullsharks, and things went their way on Friday too. Golden Gate took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 49-7 victory over Bonita Springs. The result was nothing new for Golden Gate, who have now won four matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Golden Gate to victory, but perhaps none more so than John lee Honorat, who picked up 104 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Honorat was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards. Trayvon Jean and his 102 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Golden Gate's victory.
Golden Gate's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.5 points per game. As for Bonita Springs, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Golden Gate will be playing in front of their home fans against Lely at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lely will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Golden Gate is ranked 77th). As for Bonita Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Naples at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Naples will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
