Basketball Recap: Petaluma Takes a Loss

Petaluma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-57 heartbreaker at the hands of the Vintage Crushers. The Trojans lost against the Crushers in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 68-37 score last time.

Adar Yildiz was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 30 points and 11 rebounds for Vintage. The Crushers are 2-1 when Yildiz posts 15 or more points, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Thiago Cortez, who posted 11 points.

Petaluma's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Vintage, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Petaluma will square off against Elsie Allen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vintage, they are taking a road trip to challenge Santa Rosa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crushers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
