Basketball Recap: Ardrey Kell Victorious

Ardrey Kell posted their closest win since February 11th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Asheville Christian Academy Lions 53-51. The 53-point effort marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

It was another big night for Braden Suggs, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 21 points. His big performance that afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Shyam Jobanputra also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Ardrey Kell now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Coming up, Ardrey Kell will host Kings Mountain at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Calvary Day School at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 72.4 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
