Baseball Recap: Fort Collins' Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Fort Collins ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Windsor Wizards. The win was some much needed relief for the Lambkins as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Dylan Rubenstein, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaden Souders, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Fort Collins kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Fort Collins' victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for Windsor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wizards beat Fort Collins by a score of 9-5 on Saturday.
