Football Game Preview: Miramonte Matadors vs. Redwood Giants + Official Tickets

The Miramonte Matadors will face off against the Redwood Giants at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Miramonte is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Alameda with points to spare, taking the game 35-21. The Matadors haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Miramonte got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lane Dalton out in front who threw for 234 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Charlie Hwang helped Dalton out on the ground, rushing for 114 yards and one score.

Miramonte didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Henry Hunt.

Meanwhile, Redwood earned a 27-17 win over Benicia on Friday.

Miramonte better keep an eye on Cash Ward. He was instrumental in Redwood's win, throwing for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

Redwood now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Miramonte, they now also have a winning record of 6-5.

Everything came up roses for Miramonte against Redwood when the teams last played back in November of 2015, as the team secured a 41-0 victory. Do the Matadors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Giants turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
