Basketball Game Preview: Porter Ridge Pirates vs. Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers

The Porter Ridge Pirates just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Porter Ridge took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 74-57 win over South Iredell.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Country Day School made easy work of Cary Academy on Saturday and carried off a 74-52 victory.

Charlotte Country Day School's win came from a few key players Porter Ridge will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hunter Blythe, who shot 45% from the field on his way to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Youakim, who posted 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

The win got Charlotte Country Day School back to even at 2-2. As for Porter Ridge, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Things could have been worse for Porter Ridge, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 74-59 loss to Charlotte Country Day School in their previous meeting back in November of 2024.
