Basketball Recap: Liberty Common Takes a Loss

Liberty Common lost against Strasburg back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Liberty Common Eagles took a blow against the Strasburg Indians, falling 60-16. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Indians are ranked 43rd).

Taryn LaForce was nothing short of spectacular for Strasburg: she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. LaForce has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Natalie Damron, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Liberty Common dropped their record down to 6-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Strasburg, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Liberty Common didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 42-39 victory against Windsor Charter Academy on the 4th. Strasburg has also already played their next contest, a 47-43 loss against Skyview on the 1st.
