Basketball Recap: Oceanside Falls Despite Big Games from Zeb Foster and Jackson Kay

Oceanside was the 78-67 winner over Yarmouth when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Oceanside Mariners fell to the Yarmouth Clippers 73-68. The Mariners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Oceanside's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Kay, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight rebounds and five blocks, and Zeb Foster, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 22 points. Foster's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Conner Kingsbury, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Oceanside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Oceanside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Yarmouth, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Oceanside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-60 victory against Lincoln Academy on the 2nd. As for Yarmouth, they will challenge Cape Elizabeth at 4:00 p.m. on January 4th.
