Akron strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 54-14 victory over Merino. Considering Akron has won six contests by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Akron to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jace Curtis, who rushed for 112 yards and three scores on only nine carries, and also picked up 77 receiving yards. Curtis didn't just play on offense: he also made nine total tackles and defended one pass. Another back making a difference was Jakzon Livesay, who gained 154 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Akron was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.

Akron didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trent Kautz and Kolten Randel.

Akron's record is now 9-0. As for Merino, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Akron didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-14 win against Crowley County on the 8th. Merino does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
