Volleyball Recap: Osage City Indians vs. Holton Wildcats
Osage City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Holton Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.
Osage City couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Holton a tough time in the first set. The final score came out to 35-33, 25-19.
Jewelia Kitselman paced Osage City's offense, picking up nine kills. Kitselman were helped by Addison Watson and Jaselynn Tyson, who contributed 12 assists each. Emory Speece controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Holton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kinley Fluke led the charge by getting 16 assists and 11 digs. That's the most digs Fluke has posted over her last five matches. Another player making a difference was Faith Olberding, who had 14 assists and five digs.
Osage City's loss dropped their record down to 27-15. As for Holton, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 37-9.
Osage City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Holton, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Silver Lake on the 1st.
