Softball Recap: Signal Mountain Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Signal Mountain took on Ooltewah on Wednesday. The Eagles came up short against the Owls, falling 10-1. The Eagles have struggled against the Owls recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Signal Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Ooltewah, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Signal Mountain will head out to face off against East Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.6 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ooltewah, they will take on Hixson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
