Soccer Game Preview: Cajon vs. Redlands East Valley

Cajon is 1-9 against Redlands East Valley since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cajon Cowboys will square off against the Redlands East Valley Wildcats at 5:30 p.m.

Cajon is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to Beaumont. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 894th, while the Cougars are ranked 392nd).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Redlands East Valley made sure to put some goals up on the board against Redlands on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Terriers as they made off with a 4-1 victory. Considering the Wildcats' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit Redlands with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kennedy Perkins, Devyn Barbee, Rylee Howard, and Ella Saverino.

Cajon's loss dropped their record down to 2-9-4. As for Redlands East Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-9-2.

Cajon suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Redlands East Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Cajon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
