Recap: Taylor Titans vs. Western Panthers
The Taylor Titans entered their tilt with the Western Panthers with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Taylor took down Western 53-36 on Saturday. For Taylor, this counts as revenge for the 44-38 defeat Western walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Taylor got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Javionne Harris out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Harris has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Connor Binnion, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Taylor is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Western, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taylor will take on Lewis Cass at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Western, they will head out on the road to square off against Maconaquah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Maconaquah knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully Western likes a good challenge.
