Basketball Game Preview: West Potomac Wolverines vs. Woodson Cavaliers

West Potomac is on a nine-game streak of home wins, while Woodson is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The West Potomac Wolverines will welcome the Woodson Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. West Potomac is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.6 points per game this season.

West Potomac is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: South County, who was ranked 21st at the time (West Potomac was ranked eighth). West Potomac took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of South County.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Dawn Houston, who posted 16 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Jones, who earned 15 points.

Meanwhile, Woodson slipped by West Springfield 39-38 on Thursday. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

West Potomac's loss dropped their record down to 18-2. As for Woodson, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
