Cohen Payne made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Anthony Valdez was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mark Primm, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Burlington Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Page was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northern Guilford. The Pirates have struggled against the Nighthawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.
