Recap: Magna Vista Warriors vs. McMichael Phoenix
The Magna Vista Warriors pushed their score all the way to 58 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of McMichael. Magna Vista was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as McMichael apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
McMichael's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Belcher, who scored 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Belcher has scored at least 25% of McMichael's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Dalton, who scored 15 points.
Magna Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for McMichael, the last time they lost on the road was back last Tuesday. Having now won three straight away games, they've pushed their record up to 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Magna Vista will take on Franklin County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for McMichael, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Rockingham County at 8:00 p.m. Rockingham County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than McMichael in North Carolina (Rockingham County is ranked 198th, while McMichael is ranked 400th).
