Football Recap: Weequahic Indians vs. Union City Soaring Eagles

Weequahic never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They breezed past the Union City Soaring Eagles to the tune of 41-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

A big part of Weequahic's victory came down to the chemistry between Haddiyah Bell and her top target Heaven Porter. Bell threw for 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 passes while Porter gained 130 total yards and five touchdowns. Porter also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions both of which were returned for touchdowns.

Weequahic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Porter and Rhodina Phillipe. Amani Davis was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making four total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Weequahic now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Union City, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
