Softball Recap: Cottondale Hornets vs. Poplar Springs Atomics
With a playoff win on the line, Cottondale rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Poplar Springs Atomics as they made off with a 15-0 victory. The match marked the Hornets' most dominant win of the season.
Cottondale let Kendall Benefield and Aspen Odom run wild. Benefield went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Odom went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most runs Benefield has posted since back in February. Halle Riley was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
