The Tomball Cougars will take on the Willis Wildkats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tomball comes in on three and Willis on five.
Tomball is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Waller with points to spare, taking the game 56-42. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cougars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 339th).

Tomball's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaxyn Faldyn led the charge by throwing for 192 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 80 yards and one score on only nine carries. That's the most rushing yards Faldyn has posted since back in November of 2024. Another back making a difference was Ian Thomas, who rushed for 167 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.3 yards per carry.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Tomball was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 362 rushing yards. They rushed for 127 more rushing yards than Waller's also-impressive total of 235.

Meanwhile, Willis posted their closest victory since September 19, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Westfield, sneaking past 23-20.
Willis' win came from a few key players Tomball will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lincoln Frazier, who threw for 273 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Willis, racking up 11 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Alec Hargis: he added nine points with three field goals and another two kicking extra points.
Tomball's record now sits at 9-2. As for Willis, their record is now an identical 9-2.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. Tomball has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 190.3 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Willis has preferred to attack from the air: they average 277.2 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Tomball came up short against Willis in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 28-24. Thankfully for the Cougars, Jack Emerson (who threw for 283 yards and three TDs while completing 73.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 87 yards on only seven carries) won't be suiting up this time.
