Recap: Banks County Leopards vs. Fellowship Christian Paladins

The Banks County Leopards's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 21-10 to Fellowship Christian. While losing is never fun, Banks County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Fellowship Christian is ranked 89th).

When it comes to explaining why Banks County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aucy Jacobs. Despite the final result, he rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown. Jacobs is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.

Fellowship Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonathan Granby, who rushed for 11 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 181 yards and a touchdown on only 16 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Cj Givers, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Banks County bumped their record down to 4-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.3 points per game. As for Fellowship Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Banks County will head out on the road to face off against Providence Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Providence Christian Academy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Fellowship Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Union County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Union County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 112 points over their last three matches.
