Basketball Recap: Pennfield Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

After losing to Hastings the last time they met, Pennfield decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pennfield Panthers strolled past the Hastings Saxons with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 73-55. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Saxons are ranked 503rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pennfield is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points per game. As for Hastings, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Pennfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-56 victory against Western on the 17th. Hastings has also already played their next contest (against Northwest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
