Pell City faced Alexandria in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Panthers and the Valley Cubs finished up their matchup with a 5-5 tie.

With that tie, Pell City's record moves to 21-12-2. Meanwhile, Alexandria's record is now 31-8-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pell City will face off against Tuscaloosa County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Alexandria, they will be taking part in a tournament against Faith Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
