Recap: Mount Airy Christian Academy vs. Maryland School for the Deaf Orioles
Mount Airy Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 47-15 defeat at the hands of Maryland School for the Deaf. Mount Airy Christian Academy was down 39-14 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Several Mount Airy Christian Academy players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madison Pier, who scored no points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Maryn Rajaski was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds.
Mount Airy Christian Academy dropped their record down to 2-17 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.8 points per game. As for Maryland School for the Deaf, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
Mount Airy Christian Academy is on the road again on Friday and plays Springdale Prep at 5:00 p.m. on February 9th. Mount Airy Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Maryland School for the Deaf, they will head out on the road to face off against Perry Hall Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
