Baseball Recap: Mercer County Comes Up Short

Mercer County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lafayette Generals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 two weeks ago.

Mercer County's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Lafayette, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-19.

Looking ahead, Mercer County will venture away from home to face off against Henry Clay at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lafayette, they will welcome Campbell County at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
