Softball Game Preview: Scott Skyhawks vs. Poca Dots

Scott has gone 8-2 against Poca recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Skyhawks will challenge the Dots at 12:00 p.m. Scott is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Scott was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Buffalo on Tuesday. The Skyhawks were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Bison. The victory continues a trend for the Skyhawks in their matchups with the Bison: they've now won nine in a row.

The team relied heavily on Hannah Miller, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Layton Williams, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, Poca didn't have quite enough to beat St. Joseph Central on Thursday and fell 7-6. The Dots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Scott's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Poca, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.

Scott got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April against Poca by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Skyhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
