Football Game Preview: Lubbock-Cooper Pirates vs. Wylie Bulldogs

The Lubbock-Cooper Pirates will challenge the Wylie Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lubbock-Cooper has given up an average of 36.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, Lubbock-Cooper was able to grind out a solid victory over Memorial, taking the game 49-42.

Meanwhile, Wylie entered their contest against Memorial last Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bulldogs took a blow against the Mavericks, falling 45-14.

Although Wylie took the loss, they still got scores from Blaze Ruffin and Dylan Regala.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ruffin, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Wylie's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Lubbock-Cooper, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
