Volleyball Game Preview: St. Mary's Knights vs. Mica Mountain Thunderbolts

After both having extra time off, the St. Mary's Knights and the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Mary's is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, St. Mary's came up short against Estrella Foothills and fell 3-1.

St. Mary's started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-12, 25-10, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Mica Mountain earned a 3-1 victory over Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on Tuesday.

Mica Mountain had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-13, 27-25, 25-14.

Mica Mountain has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-9 record this season. As for St. Mary's, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.
