Baseball Recap: Lyford Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

There's no place like home for Lyford, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They skirted past the Grulla Gators 7-6. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 victory the Gators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Cole Busse and Gael Silva did most of the damage at the plate: Busse scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Silva went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Riley Reyna also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Lyford is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Grulla and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Grulla will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on La Joya at 6:30 p.m. on March 14th.
