Baseball Recap: Hutchison Hawks vs. Delta Huskies
Sadly, Hutchison is still looking for their first win of the season after four games. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 12-3 walloping at the hands of the Delta Huskies on Tuesday. Hutchison was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Delta apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.
Cal Borland made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-3. Ben Rosati was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and an RBI.
Even though they lost, Hutchison didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with nine strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've managed all season.
Hutchison's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hutchison will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bettye Davis East Anchorage at 6:45 p.m. As for Delta, they will challenge Hutchison at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
