Volleyball Recap: Gaston Day Takes a Loss

Gaston Day was the 2-0 winner over Woodmont when they last played one another back in August of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Saturday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-10.

Kendyl Taylor paced Gaston Day's offense, picking up seven kills. Taylor got some help from Mary Ellen Lovelace and her 11 assists.

Gaston Day's defeat dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Woodmont, their win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-4.

Gaston Day wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Crescent on the 11th. As for Woodmont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Philip Simmons on the 11th.
